Counties across South Texas have made the use of face masks mandatory when entering a business. This applies to employees and clients.
Judges Richard Cortez and Eddie Trevino signed this ordinance on Wednesday. A grace period for business owners have until this Friday to comply. This order serves as an effort to try to minimize the spread of COVID-19, this after an alarming increase in cases these past few days.
In Starr County, a similar order will go into effect this Friday at midnight. Willacy County will put a face mask order into effect on Saturday. For some business owners, these measures present a challenge, saying that it might be harder to enforce in their establishments.
