After Yesterday’s Executive Order made by Gov. Greg Abbott effective March 10 regarding face masks use and business opening, several RGV school districts have responded.

Although the Texas Education Agency said in a statement that an updated Public Health Guidance will be published this week, some RGV districts have already issued statements.

RGV Schools will continue face mask use and Social Distancing until further notice.

The following RGV School Districts: McAllen Independent School District, Mission Consolidated School District, Rio Grande City Consolidated Independent School District, La Joya Independent School District, Harlingen Consolidated School District, Los Fresnos Consolidated Independent School District, PSJA Independent School District, Weslaco Independent School District, Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District, Donna Independent School District, Sharyland Independent School District, and IDEA Public Schools have all declared they will continue implementing safety measures and face mask use for both faculty and students, until further notice despite Gov. Abbott lifting the state’s mask mandate.
