Some Texans have been confuse since Abbott’s face mask lift began a few days ago, refusing to wear mask in private businesses. One of those people is Terry White, a 65-year-ol women who refused to wear a mask at a Galveston Bank of America branch, resulting in her detention.
The Bank of America branch, that requires it customers to wear a mask asked her to wear a mask or leave, White refused to comply and Law enforcement was called.
Body dotage of the officer showed the altercation.
“Ma’am, if they ask you to leave, you have to leave,” the officer says in the video.
“My money is in this bank, and I’m going to take it out,” she replies.
“Well then you have to abide by their rules, businesses have the right to refuse service even if you’re not wearing a mask,” the officer explains. “You need to go and get a mask and then take your money out.”
She continues to protest, and the officer tells her “we’re gonna do this the easy way or the hard way.”
“What are you gonna do, arrest me?” she replies.
“Yes, for intruding on premises,” he says.
White faces charges of criminal trespass and resisting arrest, although refusing to wear a mask on its own is not a crime in Texas under Abbott’s latest directive trespassing a private business is.
