Harlingen, Texas – Waffles + Mochi is the new show that Netflix will bring to its platform to promote cooking in children and adults, as well as to introduce different cultures.

Premiering next Tuesday, Waffles + Mochi is a puppet show very much in the style of Sesame Street, this show brings us the story of two little ones (Waffle and Mochi) who discover the enormous world of food and cuisine on their way to becoming chefs.

As one of the stars of the show, we have Michelle Zamora, a native Brownsville puppeteer. Michelle plays Waffle a puppet with a dream of becoming a Chef.

Zamora says she is very grateful for getting the role since this has allowed her to work as a puppeteer and what better way than to work doing what you like to do the most.

“I did two callbacks and I got a call from Pria who is at Higher Ground, and she said ‘do you want to be our Waffles?’ and I freaked out because I knew at the moment this is something I’ve been waiting for 20 years doing puppets in Los Angeles,” Zamora said.

Zamora also thanks her parents for always fostering creativity in their home, for the upbringing they gave her, and attributes her success to them.

We will also be able to see former first lady Michel Obama on the show, who plays the owner of the supermarket and who gives Waffle and Mochi their first chance to become Chefs.

The show will consist of 10 episodes of 20 minutes each, so prepare your cookbook and follow your dreams.
