Twenty-five new cases of COVID-19 and five deaths related to the virus were reported last Wednesday in Cameron County.
According to reports, the deaths correspond to four men (Brownsville, Harlingen, La Feria and Port Isabel) and one woman (San Benito) in the county.
The date of the death of the five people has not been specified, nor the date on which the 25 people mentioned tested positive for the virus.
Since the beginning of the pandemic last year, more than 1,500 deaths from COVID-19 have been reported as well as a total of 38,056 positive cases.
Reports also indicate that a total of 34,229 people have successfully recovered from the virus.
