Some residents have received text messages, calls, and emails about their COVID 19 vaccination, this, as part of a scam to get resident’s personal information.
According to Better Business Bureau, this scam tells residents that the call is being made by Pfizer representatives and offers money or a free product to people who complete the survey.
“Whoever you got your vaccine from already has your information.” BBB of South Texas President Hilda Martinez said. “They’re also asking for your credit card number, so that way they can send you this reward.”
The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and all three authorized vaccine companies in the county are encouraging those who have been vaccinated to enroll only at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/safety/vsafe.html.
The program aims to help post-vaccine monitoring, no other surveys are recommended by those organizations at this time.
