A wind advisory has been posted for today from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm for all of Cameron and Willacy counties, including Laguna Madre and South Padre Island.
Winds are expected to reach 40 MHP in response to a developing storm system in the southern Rockies.
Hidalgo and Starr’s counties are not in the advisory area but residents from these counties can also expect strong winds reaching 30 MPH.
Residents are advised to be cautious while driving, especially in high-profile vehicles.
Winds are expect to diminish by midnight.
