Governor Greg Abbott announced this Friday that the state has administrated 10 million vaccines since the begun vaccination back in December.
Abbott thanked healthcare workers, volunteers, and the Texas National Guard for the hard work of conducting vaccination centers.
“As more vaccines become available and eligibility opens to all Texans, I urge Texans who wish to get the COVID-19 vaccine to sign up to help us keep our communities safe. Here in Texas, COVID-19 vaccines will always be strongly encouraged and always voluntary,” Abbott said.
Texas is widening eligibility for the COVID-19 vaccine to all adults -16 years and older- starting this Monday. According to Abbott, more than 30% of currently eligible Texas have already been vaccinated.
