According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the man wanted in the shooting of a Texas state trooper has died.

Few information about the death of Arthur Pinson Jr., 37, are available, but Limestone County Judge Richard Duncan said Pinson committed suicide.

Pinson, who is accused of shooting a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper near Mexia on Friday, has been pursued by authorities.

DeArthur Pinson Jr., 37, was shot near U.S. Highway 84 west of Mexia in Limestone County, about 81 miles southeast of Dallas, according to the DPS.

Chad Walker, a husband and father of four, was named by the Texas Department of Public Safety Officers Association as the wounded trooper.
