This Tuesday, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has issued a warning about a phishing scam targeting students and Educational staff who have a .edu email address, after receiving complaints about the scam.
The scam is using an IRS logo with a subject line about “Tax Refund Payment” and tax refund claims, it asks students to click on a link and submit a form with personal information to complete the claim.
The IRS is asking people not to click on any unknown link and to report if they get the email, if someone already got the email or filled the form, the IRS is also urging them to obtain an Identity Protection Pin.
