The Department of Health and Human Services is launching a campaign called “We Can Do This” with the partnership of leaders from religious, celebrities, and athletes to promote COVID-19 shoots.

This is a part of President Joe Biden’s effort to immunize the U.S. population and move forward after a year that the COVID-19 pandemic began.

Courtney Rowe, the White House’s COVID-19 director of strategic communications and engagement, briefed governors on the new initiative Tuesday, telling them that people “want to hear from those they know and trust, empowering the leader’s people want to hear from.”

The campaign will feature television and social media ads, and parallel to this campaign the Administration will also be launching a multi-million dollar advertising campaign in English and Spanish to urge people to seek information about the vaccines and get the shot when they qualify.

According to Dr. Anthony Fauci 70% to 85% of the population needs to be immune to the virus to reach herd immunity.
