RGV residents can expect high temperatures this week

Intense temperatures are expected for the Rio Grande Valley, this week residents can expect thermometers reaching the 90s and 100s.

High Temperatures across South Texas are a result of an area of high pressure situated over the southwest U.S.

Starting Thursday temperatures in the Rio Grande Valley will be surpassing the 90 degrees mark, which will continue into next week.

As a result of the same high-pressure Starr County may be reaching 102 degrees Thursday and Friday, residents are advised to stay hydrated and practice heat safety measures if they plan to work or spend prolonged time outdoors.

Burn bans are still in effect for all Counties in the Rio Grande Valley.
