1,400 migrant students are being assisted in Edinburg through Edinburg CSID Migrant Education Program, a program that has assisted students since the 1960s.

Migrant Education Program helps students by providing them assistance with school supplies, counseling services, and tutorials, many of those students are just arriving in a new Country, looking with their families for a better future, but leaving behind all they know, the program helps them with the transition.

Migrant Education Program Coordinator at ECISD Patricio Escamilla said the hard work the students put in got the attention of the Edinburg Rotary Club.

“They were able to showcase our migrant students and the different barriers that they face,” Escamilla said.
