Texas health officials reported more than 1,700 new coronavirus cases and 26 deaths over the weekend.
The Texas Department of State Health Services reported 1,725 new cases Sunday, plus 47 previously unreported cases; an estimated 65,106 are active.
New cases being reported show that 29 of the 30 top, per capita, cases cities are in West Texas counties.
Texas vaccination for adults is still ongoing, 31.5% of the adult population has received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine while 19% of them are fully vaccinated.
