COVID-19 report: Cameron County reports 31 new cases

Cameron County reported 31 positive COVID-19 cases and three coronavirus-related deaths.

One woman and two men died as a result of COVID-19, according to a release, the victims were from Brownsville, Harlingen, and Rio Honda.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Cameron County Health has reported 1,598 coronavirus-related deaths.

Since the pandemic started, 39,441 people in Cameron County have tested positive.

Vaccination in the County is ongoing, all adults 16 years and older are eligible for the vaccine. 

Health officials recommend vaccination and following the CDC guidelines to prevent residents from contracting the virus.
