The Texas House is set to discuss its two-year, $246 billion budget plan on Thursday, in what may be the chamber’s most heated debate of the legislative session so far.

Members of the House have suggested nearly 240 changes to the massive budget bill, and they are likely to spend hours voting on contentious topics such as Medicaid expansion and border protection.

Another point of contention may be what to do with tens of billions in federal grants for coronavirus relief.

At 10 a.m., the House of Representatives will be sworn in.
