Texas health officials announced the shipping of more than 1.7 million COVID-19 vaccine doses for this upcoming week.
According to the Texas Department of State Health Services, 708,460 first doses of Moderna and Pfizer vaccine will be distributed in 129 Texas counties, while 570,520 second doses of both Moderna and Pfizer vaccines will also be distributed in Texas counties.
Also, with the federal pause on the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine now lifted, the federal government is expected to make doses of that vaccine available as soon as possible.
As of today, more than 23.4 million doses of the vaccine have been distributed in Texas, with 36% of the population having received at least one dose, and 26% fully immunized.
