The first of three super moons, the pink moon will be visible for the first time this year.

A supermoon is a full moon or a new moon that nearly coincides with perigee—the closest that the Moon comes to the Earth in its elliptic orbit—resulting in a slightly larger-than-usual apparent size of the lunar disk as viewed from Earth.

Residents will be able to see the pink moon at its biggest and brightest tonight at 11:31 pm.

With lesser effect, the pink moon will be visible tomorrow night also, until Wednesday dawn.
