This week, U.S. Rep. Vicente Gonzalez presented $3.7 million in federal funding to the Texas Tropical Behavioral Health clinic.
The clinic is located at 1901 S 24th Ave in Edinburg and received the funds for the Mental Health and Substance Abuse Service Grant Program.
The goal of the fundings is to help people suffering from mental health issues resulting from the coronavirus pandemic.
Tropical Texas Behavioral Health has also three more franchises across Hidalgo County and Willacy County, and the funding will go to all four clinics, according to a statement by Terry Croker Tropical Texas Behavioral Health CEO.
Croker also said that the funding will “allow us to step up, as well as extend access to care.”
