Cameron County has reported 52 new positive cases of COVID-19.
According to a report from Cameron County officials, six of the reported cases came from unaccompanied minors shelter and detention center.
There weren’t any deaths reported. The death toll since the COVID-19 pandemic began is at 1,672 people who have died because of coronavirus.
Since the pandemic started, 41,496 people in Cameron County have tested positive for the virus 39,049 of them have recovered from the virus in the county according to the news release.
Vaccination is still ongoing for Cameron County residents with 58% of the total population 12 years and older have been fully vaccinated.
