Hidalgo County reports 2 coronavirus-related deaths

Hidalgo County has reported 29 new positive cases of COVID-19, and one coronavirus-related death.

A man from Edinburg and a woman from McAllen, both of whom were in their 60s died as a result of the virus.

According to the Hidalgo County website, the last time the positive case count was this low was over a year ago when the county reported 36 cases on June 10, 2020.

The death toll since the COVID-19 pandemic began is at 2,896 people who have died because of coronavirus.

Since the pandemic started, 92,496 people in Hidalgo County have tested positive for the virus.

Vaccination is still ongoing for Hidalgo County, experts recommend getting the vaccine if it is available for your age group and health conditions.
