Hidalgo County has reported 85 new positive cases of COVID-19, and one coronavirus-related death.
A man in his 70s from Alamo died as a result of the virus.
The death toll since the COVID-19 pandemic began is at 2,908 people who have died because of coronavirus.
Of the 85 people who tested positive 33 are confirmed, 40 are probable and 12 are suspect, according to the news release.
Vaccination is still ongoing for Hidalgo County, experts recommend getting the vaccine if you meet the age and health requirements.
