The National Weather Service in Brownsville has issued a Flash Flood Watch for: Coastal Cameron County, Coastal Willacy County, Inland Cameron County, Inland Willacy County, Northern Hidalgo County, Southern Hidalgo County, and Starr County.
The Flash Flood Watch is active and will still be in place through Wednesday. The NWS says numerous showers and thunderstorms may produce heavy rainfall.
Rainfall amounts are expected to reach three to five inches. Heavy rainfall over a short period of time will cause difficulty in driving.
Low-lying and poorly draining areas may experience flash flooding.
