Hidalgo County has reported 248 new positive cases of COVID-19, and one coronavirus-related death.
A woman in her 70s from McAllen died as a result of the virus.
The death toll since the COVID-19 pandemic began is at 2,923 people who have died because of coronavirus.
From the 248 cases reported 121 are confirmed, 122 are probable, and 5 are suspect, according to the news release.
Since the pandemic began, 94,617 people have tested positive for the virus in the county.
Vaccination is still ongoing for Hidalgo County, experts recommend getting the vaccine if you meet the age and health requirements.
