A regional job fair will be held today in both Brownsville and McAllen, in an effort to re-incorporate people to the workforce in the area.
The job fair in McAllen is set to take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the McAllen Convention Center located at 700 Convention Center Blvd.
The job fair in Brownsville is taking place at the Brownsville Events Center from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Workforce Solutions says more than 130 employers are ready to recruit for over 5,000 positions in many.
Some employers will be conducting on-site interviews.
Those hoping to find a new job during Thursday’s RGV Regional Job Fair will also have a chance to receive a COVID-19 vaccine.
Hidalgo County will be hosting a vaccine clinic during the job fair, set for Thursday, Aug. 19 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Pre-registration is not required and those receiving the Pfizer vaccine must be 12 years or older.
